Stephen A. Smith went delusional by predicting that the New York Knicks would make the NBA Finals. They didn’t even make the conference finals.

So much for the begging at the video board, huh, Stephen A. Smith? So much for the New York Knicks going to the finals, huh?

NOT!! The pep talk was an abomination. It was useless; instead, it’s South Beach’s time to shine. After six games, Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat are on their way to the Eastern Conference Finals. The New York Knicks? Headed home?

Meanwhile, Mr. Smith, after talking up so much smoke, now has to take the blowback instead of dishing it, and social media returned the favor with great enthusiasm.

The group that has the most to celebrate this moment of Stephen A getting trolled are Dallas Cowboys fans. They’ve had to endure Smith’s constant beration for years. But they always had a retort. Smith has called Cowboys fans delusional, but Knicks fans are just the same, Smith included. Dallas hasn’t won the Super Bowl since 1995. The Knicks? 1973. Big difference.

Nonetheless, after New York knocked out Donovan Mitchell and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round, Smith went wild and proclaimed the Knicks would be going to the NBA Finals. Sounds like a delusional Cowboys fan, right? The dictionary definition, and Smith fits the bill to a tee.

Indeed. Now, Smith will be back to ranting and throwing tantrums on national television, to the pure enjoyment of several basketball and sports fans across the United States. Bing Bong all the way back to NY. The Knicks are out, and their ESPN cheerleader has been humbled. Silence never felt so good, wouldn’t you agree?
