The Arizona Diamondbacks outpaced the Washington Nationals in the first game of this mid-week series, 10-5, and will look to do similar and keep pace in the NL West.

This is a battle of two of the best offenses in baseball, even if the Nationals are in the early stages of a rebuild. Washington rates out as a top 10  offense in most offensive metrics while the D-Backs have used its offense to keep up with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

With two struggling veterans in Zach Davies of the Diamondbacks and Patrick Corbin of the Nationals on the mound, can each offense keep it rolling? Let’s check out the odds for this Wednesday night matchup:

Diamondbacks vs. Nationals odds, run line and total

Diamondbacks vs. Nationals prediction and pick

Despite the lack of star power on the Nationals, the team can hit with the best teams in the bigs. Washington is hitting .264 this season, fourth overall, while striking out at the lowest rate in baseball. The team puts the ball in play and makes things happen on the base paths.

The team faces Davies, who has only made two starts since making an early appearance on the injured list this season and made only four overall. Davies has never been known for his ability to generate swing and misses, averaging less than seven strikeouts per nine innings over his nine year career and the Nats are going to put the bat on the ball too often not to put up a hefty run total.

However, count on the Diamondbacks to answer against Corbin. Arizona is top 10 in batting average against lefties and is top five in slugging percentage on the year. Corbin continues to struggle this season, allowing nearly double the amount of hits compared to strikeouts this season (10.9 hits vs. 5.6 strikeouts).

Further, Corbin is backed by the third worst bullpen in baseball this season in terms of ERA. I expect Arizona flirts with double digits once again on Wednesday night.
