Andrew Suarez will not be on the St. Louis Cardinals roster on September 1

Suarez hasn’t done the greatest since being promoted to St. Louis.

He’s pitched four innings over two games, compiling an ERA of 13.50. He’s given up seven hits, two walks, and six earned runs. He did strike out two batters, so he does have that going for him.

With the recent changes to the pitching staff, Suarez could be part of a piggyback situation where he can start or take over in the middle innings of a game. The Cardinals have promised to be diligent in giving pitchers opportunities to show what they have gotten and how they can contribute to the Cardinals moving forward.

It’s not likely that Suarez wants his time with the Cardinals to be remembered with that ERA. Hopefully, he can show off his skills. But, given the need for some of the younger talent in the minor leagues to pitch, I do not see Suarez on the team’s roster on Sept. 1.
