The BetSided team is 27-24 on upset picks this season, and we’re looking to keep the record over .500 through Week 14.
Here are our best upset picks in college football with all odds via WynnBET Sportsbook:
Oregon (+120) Upsets Utah
It’s never a good feeling to back a team that got smoked by 31 to the same team a few weeks ago, but if you evaluate the season and talent on a macro-level, it’s easier to arrive at the decision.
However, Oregon all season long has been amongst the best teams in college football with their run game, and Utah was fully prepared for it. Now, they know how the Utes will play them, and can adjust through play action and with their skill downfield. They’ll need to slow down Utah’s run game however, because giving up over 200 yards again won’t keep them in the game.
With sharps jumping on the Ducks at +3 and moving the line to +2.5, I like to think I’m on the right side here on a neutral field in Las Vegas, especially with a moneyline upset. -- Ben Heisler
Wake Forest (+120) Upsets Pittsburgh
The Demon Deacons have the best offense in the country, averaging over 43.7 points per game. They’ve scored 30 points in every game except for the one against Clemson. Outside of that, the only way to beat them is to outscore them -- which is hard for anyone in the country to do.
Pittsburgh’s defense is solid, but it isn’t as good as Clemson’s, which will make it difficult for them to keep up with Wake Forest. This game is going to be a shootout and I’ll trust Wake Forest to handle business. -- Donnavan Smoot
Utah State (+190) Upsets San Diego State
San Diego State's defense is among the best in the country, but its offense will fall short when it comes time to win the Mountain West Championship Game. The Aztecs rank 104th in yards per play and 62nd in points per play. They also rank 91st in the country in penalty yards per game.
A lack of explosive plays on offense and an undisciplined team that's apt to get penalized, is a bad recipe for a favorite in a conference title game. I'll back the Aggies to pull off the upset. -- Iain MacMillan
Alabama (+200) Upsets Georgia
I know Alabama nearly lost to Auburn last week, but I’m not going to doubt a Nick Saban-coached team with a trip to the College Football Playoff on the line.
The Crimson Tide likely need to win over Georgia to remain in the field, while the Bulldogs are going to be in regardless of the outcome of the SEC Championship Game.
Sure, Georgia is going to want to win, but how sweet would it be if Alabama stunned the Bulldogs’ historically great defense to force another matchup in the College Football Playoff?
Saban has won the last five SEC title games that Alabama has played in. I’m not going to sleep on the Crimson Tide and Bryce Young with their season on the line. -- Peter Dewey
