Ravens Finally Starting to Feel Impact of J.K. Dobbins' Injury
By Peter Dewey
J.K. Dobbins is done for the season with a torn ACL, and the Baltimore Ravens are finally starting to feel the impact of losing the second-year running back.
Baltimore, who was tied at +700 odds with the Cleveland Browns on WynnBET to win the AFC this season, has now fallen behind Cleveland to +850 following the Dobbins injury. The Ravens are still fourth in the odds to win the AFC, but it hurts to fall behind a division rival.
However, the AFC North odds have not changed for Baltimore, as it is still the +125 favorite.
AFC North Odds After J.K. Dobbins Injury
- Baltimore Ravens: +125
- Cleveland Browns: +140
- Pittsburgh Steelers: +400
- Cincinnati Bengals: +2000
During the 2020 season, Dobbins became the first rookie in NFL history to rush for over 800 yards, nine touchdowns and average over six yards per carry during a season.
His absence will force the Ravens to turn to Gus Edwards, Justice Hill and Ty’Son Williams in the backfield, and none of those options possess the upside that Dobbins has.
A lot more will fall on the plate of Lamar Jackson (+1500 to win his second MVP award), and the Ravens need Rashod Bateman, Sammy Watkins, Marquise Brown and Mark Andrews to help lead a passing game that took a step back in 2020.
With Brown and Bateman already banged up this offseason, the Ravens seem to be hanging by a thread on offense. Jackson’s upside is too much to completely overlook Baltimore, but don’t be surprised if its odds continue to drop if they get out to a slow start this season.
