Rome Odunze NFL Draft Stock: 5 teams that need star Washington WR
By John Buhler
4. Cincinnati Bengals always seem to do a great job at drafting receivers
It is going to be especially interesting to see what the Cincinnati Bengals decide to do this offseason. With Joe Burrow suffering a season-ending injury midway through the campaign, maybe they will protect him better in the upcoming free agency period or NFL Draft? Then again, Burrow now carries an injury-prone label, the only thing that will sink his professional career. What to do, what to do???
I don't know if it is the best fit for the Bengals, but Odunze would absolutely flourish as the latest piece in the Bengals' receiving corps. Getting the ball out of Burrow's hands quickly is beyond paramount going forward. It is why a great route runner like Odunze could do wonders in this Cincinnati offense, regardless of if Brian Callahan is back for another season. He just might now...
Ultimately, I think Cincinnati could be chomping at the bit if Odunze were to fall outside of the top 10 and enter the mid-to-late teens where the Bengals could be picking. They might not be able to help themselves. This is not the pick I would make if I were Cincinnati, but their proven track record of drafting and developing receiver talent is about as good as it gets across the NFL landscape of late.
Heck, you could probably argue that Cincinnati has been better at this of late than even Pittsburgh.
