There’s no doubt that when healthy, Luol Deng is one of the better small forwards in the NBA. Of course, staying healthy has been a problem for Deng who seemingly always has some type of nagging injury.

Deng missed the Chicago Bulls game on Saturday evening with an Achilles injury and given the volatile nature of that word in recent months thanks to Kobe Bryant, the team decided to send Deng for an MRI. Thankfully those results were negative and Deng is now hopeful the swelling will go down over the next few days, allowing him to return to the court:

"“I want to get back as soon as I can,” Deng said. “We’re going to treat it these next two days. My mindset is to be ready for the next game. If I feel like I can run out there I’ll play. I don’t know about the minutes, I don’t know how much I’ll play, but where it’s good enough and comfortable enough to be effective out there.”"

Trainers told the Bulls coaching staff that Deng ‘could’ be better in a few days but that’s somewhat up in the air as of right now. The team will continue to monitor him before allowing Deng to return to action.
