Purdue to put student photos on football helmets
By Bryan Rose
Next time you see the Purdue Boilermakers take the gridiron, you might miss a subtle change the team has made to their uniform – at least for one game.

Biting off a promotion ran by a college baseball team which we saw a few months ago, Purdue has decided to incorporate their fans into their on-field activities by placing fan photos into their helmet logo.
Sound strange? That’s probably because it is, though, it’s just one of many new and unique features we’ve seen teams (both collegiate and professional) implementing into their Saturday and Sunday best.
As noted in the Twitter mention, to get your beautiful mug on one of players helmets, you’ll need to purchase what is likely a relatively unaffordable VIP card – but this is probably the closest the majority of fans will ever have to be on the field, so what’s a few hundred bucks (or more) in the grand scheme of things, right?
Currently, there’s no word if the team plans to make every helmet have the same images or if each logo will be comprised of different pictures. I’d venture to guess that will likely be dictated by how many VIP card’s are sold.
So what do you say, FanSided? A cool idea or way too gimmicky for your nature?
I do have to give credit to the Boilermakers for doing what they can by trying to involve fans in the process, though, forcing them to buy something is a little shady. Also, the pictures are going to be so small it seems to defeat the purpose, but still an interesting idea at minimum.
