Braxton Miller is going for a three-peat as the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year after the Ohio State quarterback took home the honors in his sophomore and junior seasons and was picked to win it as a senior in a poll organized by cleveland.com.

More from College Football

Miller received 21 of 29 votes from the writers who voted in the fourth annual poll to pick the conference’s order of finish, offensive and defensive players of the year.

The Buckeyes are the media’s pick to win the Big Ten one year after they lost to the Michigan State Spartans in the Big Ten Championship Game and Spartans defensive end Shilique Calhoun won the defensive honors.

Could we see a rematch between the Buckeyes and Spartans in the game again? If that happens, it will feature the media’s top players on both sides of the ball and could be another exciting game as the 2013 game was.

Others receiving votes for the offensive player award were Wisconsin running back Melvin Gordon who came in second with five votes, Nebraska running back Ameer Abdullah received two and Penn State sophomore quarterback Christian Hackenberg received one.

The 6-2, 215-pound native of Huber Heights, Ohio has thrown for 5292 yards and 52 touchdowns in his first three years as the starter at Ohio State with only 17 interceptions. He is coming off career-highs for completion percentage, yards, yards-per-attempt, yards, touchdowns and quarterback rating last year.

Miller did a great deal of his damage with his feet after turning in his second-straight 1,000-yard season last year when he ran for 1,068 yards on a career-high 6.2 yards-per-carry and 12 touchdowns.
