Cavaliers may target Roy Hibbert or Larry Sanders in trade?
By Bryan Rose
The Cleveland Cavaliers don’t have many weaknesses as they’re currently constructed, though if you had to find a wart you’d likely point to their lack of rim protection.

That’s something the Cavs front office is well aware of as they’ve been searching for a big man to clog the paint for months, however, they’ve yet to find the perfect fit. Might that come via a trade for Roy Hibbert of the Indiana Pacers or Larry Sanders of the Milwaukee Bucks?
That’s the speculation from Jason Lloyd of Ohio.com who hints the Cleveland Cavaliers could take the non-guaranteed $10.5 million dollar contract of Brenden Haywood and use it as trade bait.
"The Cavs still badly need a rim protector, so how would Roy Hibbert or Larry Sanders look playing alongside James and Love in 2015? The Cavs could take the Haywood contract, cobble together smaller nonguaranteed deals and easily make the money portion match in a deal for a 7-foot former All-Star."
Lloyd continued on about Larry Sanders.
"But if he struggles to live up to the contract, how will a new ownership group in Milwaukee — which wasn’t around when the deal was agreed upon — feel about paying him that much money on a rebuilding team?"
At this point it doesn’t appear any deal is on the table though it’s very possible that Sanders or Hibbert will find themselves on the trade block this season (Hibbert already has). It’s been said the Bucks aren’t overly eager to trade away Sanders currently though if he doesn’t live up to his contract, he could find a ticket out of town while Hibbert continues to be a financial burden to the Pacers.
It would be a case of the rich getting richer for the Cleveland Cavaliers, though we’ve seen that happen plenty of times in the NBA in recent years. Add in that they have plenty of assets to make a deal and you have to wonder how long they’ll go without having a true rim protector on their roster.
