With Greg Monroe signing his qualifying offer with the Detroit Pistons, there currently sit two restricted free agents in the NBA. One is Phoenix Suns guard Eric Bledsoe, the other? Aron Baynes of the San Antonio Spurs.

More from Cleveland Cavaliers

No, Baynes hasn’t received the type of interest nor media coverage that Bledsoe has, that said, Aron Baynes looks to be a very solid player and is apparently on the trade block.

On Tuesday, news broke suggesting the San Antonio Spurs were allegedly willing to part with Aron Baynes in a sign-and-trade deal though who exactly would have interest is unknown. Might it be the Cleveland Cavaliers? They’ve been searching for a center for quite a while and Sam Amico of Fox Sports suspects they could be in on the Australian as he noted in his weekly chat.

"To be honest, if he’s as available is everyone is saying, I bet the Cavs most certainly do. I don’t know that for a fact, but I’d be willing to bet, again, they’re looking into it."

Keep in mind here this is more of an educated guess on the part of Amico, not inside information. Still, it makes a significant amount of sense given the Cleveland Cavaliers’ needs and the fact that Baynes could very well be the best available big in the market.

The biggest question currently is cost. What’s it going to take to sign Aron Baynes and what type of asset would the Cleveland Cavaliers need to give up in a trade?
