It’s one thing when talk radio turns on you. It’s another when your jersey hits the clearance section, but that’s exactly what Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III is dealing with.

Out for at least 4-6 weeks with an ankle injury, the signal caller is hoping to return this season though how effective he’ll be is an unknown. Given he didn’t exactly start the season off well and the fact that Kirk Cousins lit up the box score on Sunday, might Griffin even have a starting job when he comes back?

It seems as if one sports store in Maryland is hedging bets that Griffin’s time with the Washington Redskins may be coming to an end as they’ve placed his jersey in the 40 percent off area of the store.

While the store discounting Robert Griffin’s jersey has resulted in fantastic press, it could simply be they’re trying to rid themselves of extra stock. Let’s face it, Robert Griffin’s jersey isn’t exactly going to be the hottest selling thing in the coming weeks so the store could simply be trying to break even on his merchandise.

Still, that has to be quite a hit to the ego. Should be interesting to see if anybody else follows their lead.

On the plus side, it’s a fantastic opportunity for those Washington Redskins who’ve yet to get themselves a Robert Griffin jersey.
