On Monday afternoon the San Francisco Giants were preparing for their critical three-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers in Southern California.

Fresh off getting swept by the San Diego Padres, tempers were obviously elevated in the San Francisco Giants’ clubhouse and apparently things boiled over when former closer Sergio Romo allegedly got into a shouting match with bench coach Shawon Dunston.

First to report the verbal scuffle was popular San Francisco Giants beat writer Andrew Baggarly. Apparently, that didn’t sit well with the team as they are now shunning the long time reporter for leaking the story according to SFGate.com.

"Pagan was not immediately available for comment. Before Bochy spoke, Pagan abruptly cut short a group interview because of the presence of one beat reporter whom he and other players say they will boycott, angry over something he wrote."

Nobody has exactly denied the shouting match and Baggarly has a proven track record as being a very solid reporter, so the fact that he’s being exiled by San Francisco Giant players is a bit over the top on their part.

For what it’s worth, Andrew Baggarly didn’t appear to be shaken by the fact that he’s currently being boycotted as he reported on San Francisco’s loss on Tuesday night as if nothing happened, though thanked fans for their support on social media.

Hopefully the situation gets resolved rather quickly for all involved as the story seems to be a bit of a distraction heading into the postseason for the slumping (and injured) San Francisco Giants.
