The Kansas City Chiefs moved to 2-2 on the 2014 NFL season thanks to 41-14 destruction of the New England Patriots on Monday at Arrowhead Stadium.

Kansas City got on the board first with 2:15 remaining in the first quarter thanks to a 2-yard touchdown rush from Jamaal Charles and never looked back. Charles, who missed the Chiefs’ previous game with an ankle injury, came back strong. He caught two more touchdown passes on the evening, the second of which helped Kansas City take a 24-0 lead in the third quarter.

Cairo Santos’ second field goal of the game made it 27-0 with 5:29 remaining in the third.

The Patriots finally got on the board with a 44-yard touchdown pass from Tom Brady to Brandon LaFell on the next drive, making it 27-7.

But the Chiefs quickly added two more touchdowns, the second of which, a 39-yard interception return from Husain Abdullah, was basically the game’s dagger with 10:34 remaining in the game.

Jimmy Garoppolo replaced Brady with the game out of hand and threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Rob Gronkowski for the game’s final score with 7:25 remaining.

The story of the game outside the Chiefs’ nearly flawless performance was Brady, who was a mess. The future hall-of-famer turned the ball over three times in crucial spots in the second half, all of which led to Kansas City scores.

Brady finished the game 14-of-23 for 159 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. Stevan Ridley led the way on the ground for New England with 28 yards and LaFell was the Pats’ top pass-catcher with 119 yards.

Smith threw for 248 yards and three touchdowns on 20-of-26 passing. Knile Davis rushed for 107 yards and Travis Kelce had 93 receiving yards and a touchdown, rounding out the Chiefs’ top playmakers for the game.
