Dirk Koetter didn’t appreciate the Tampa Bay Buccaneers roasting the Atlanta Falcons on Twitter.

Twitter is one of the best creations of mankind. Not only is it the best place to stay updated on news and highlights, it’s also a haven for sports teams trolling each other. However, Dirk Koetter was forced to apologize after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers twitter account roasted the Atlanta Falcons over blowing a 28-3 lead to the New England Patriots.

The exchange in question is below.

Koetter apologized to the Falcons during an interview during their OTAs.

You have to give credit to him for being professional. Most coaches would have laughed it off, if not outright encouraged the trolling. However, Koetter needs to loosen up a little. Sure, the Buccaneers need to respect the Falcons. But this doesn’t mean they can’t have a little fun at the expense of their NFC South rival.

It’s worth noting Koetter is the former offensive coordinator for the Falcons. This means he likely still harbors some good feelings and respect for his former team. However, Koetter needs to realize he’s with the Buccaneers now. His relationship with the Falcons needs to be put aside. Koetter shouldn’t have to apologize for this. Even Falcons fans have to admit the Buccaneers twitter account got them pretty good.

Jameis Winston finally has a deep threat, one who’s one of the best in the NFL. So expect some more Twitter heat to come from both sides of this war. The two teams will face each other on Nov. 26 and Dec. 18. Get your popcorn ready because their social media accounts will surely be going back and forth throughout the 2017 NFL season.
