Major Wright to the Dallas Cowboys for fourth round pick

Nobody can say for sure what has happened to safety Major Wright. After playing one of his best seasons in 2012, he has fallen way off the ledge a year later. Much of that is the loss of Lovie Smith and also a non-existent pass rush up front.

However, he often seems late in coverage and not really attune to what he has to do. Perhaps the loss that hurt him the most was former defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli who got Wright close to Pro Bowl level. Since Marinelli is now with the Dallas Cowboys as defensive line coach and his team is in need of help at safety, a deal makes sense.

Wright is a free agent next year but under the guidance of Marinelli and Monte Kiffin he could recapture his old form and give the division-leading Cowboys some help on the back end. In return the Bears solve one of their pending free agent problems and get a fair fourth round choice in return.
