Chicago has one of the more underrated receiving groups in the league thanks to the tandem of Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall. Lost in that success is the somewhat quiet season had by third receiver Earl Bennett. Despite two touchdown catches including a huge one in Pittsburgh, he has become less of an option in the Marc Trestman offense thanks to the increased targets for Matt Forte and Martellus Bennett.

That negates the fact the 26-year old receiver is healthy and anxious for more action. He works very well out of the slot and has excellent hands that make him a huge threat on third down. Perhaps he might find more impact with a different team.

The Carolina Panthers, despite the success of Cam Newton over the past couple weeks, rank 29th overall in the league in passing. A boost at wide receiver could strengthen their cause and take pressure off Ted Ginn Jr., who is primarily a return man. In exchange the Bears save some money on Bennett’s contract and get an extra draft pick.
