It was one of the only low-lights for the Vikings in their 41-28 victory over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. Bridgewater was carted off the field in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury and sent to the locker room for X-rays.
Those X-rays came back negative, and after the game Bridgewater said that the injury is just a sprain and that he plans to play Thursday night against the Packers.
That is good news for the Vikings, who saw immediate signs of the promise offered by their rookie quarterback in his first career start on Sunday. It will be a little dicey for Bridgewater to play on a short week, and surely they will monitor his status closely. Barring any setbacks, it sounds like Bridgewater will be ready to make his second career start opposite Aaron Rodgers in week 5.
