Buffalo Bills (5-3)

While we’re not impressed with the win over the New York Jets—because the Bills offense looked too stagnant and, it’s the Jets—the Buffalo Bills have been impressive overall.

One game behind a still-potent, but vulnerable New England Patriots team, the Bills have had some impressive wins over Chicago and Detroit. What makes them a bit of a mystery is the softer parts of their schedule—beating teams like Minnesota or the Jets are not much of a bellwether.

Coming out of the bye, they’ve got an inconsistent Kansas City, then Miami and the Jets again—both teams they handled easily. So their next real test is probably Cleveland, though the bigger test will be in Denver the next week, followed by Green Bay at home.

Capping the season off will be a home game against the New England Patriots—a game which could hold the key to the division and one, on paper, they shouldn’t win.

They may have to do all or some of this missing both Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller. That’s a tough row to hoe.

But this Bills team has been full of surprises.
