Winner: Odell Beckham Jr.

True, the Giants lost the game. And yes, Beckham got his bell rung during the second half and was out for a stretch. Sure, he was all but ignored by Eli Manning during the last two drives.

But what a catch.

I was in the press box for Giants-Cowboys at MetLife last night and one thing you should know is there is no cheering allowed in the press box. I don’t think it’s an official rule, but just something we all know isn’t done.

Except for last night when Beckham made one of the most ridiculous catches anyone had ever seen.

There was an audible gasp, which was probably pretty close to what you uttered from your couch as the receiver hauled in the ball one handed for a touchdown. Beckham practices these one-handed catches during the week and prior to kickoff. It seems a bit silly to some, until you realize that it actually can come in handy. The concentration it takes to nab a pass like that only hones the same concentration you need for more basic catches.

It is telling that Beckham doesn’t drop too many balls.

That he did it with Brandon Carr draped on him made it all the more fantastic.
