Loser: Atlanta Falcons

How exactly do you let Brian Hoyer and the Cleveland Browns take away  a win by marching down the field for a last second field goal when there is less than a minute left on the clock?

Ask the Atlanta Falcons and head coach Mike Smith, because they did it Sunday.

The NFC South is not a good division (also, water is wet) but the ways these teams find to lose is almost impressive.

Hoyer completed four straight passes to get to the Falcons 19-yard line in under 44 seconds, setting the Browns up for a Billy Cundiff game-winning field goal.

The Falcons cannot play four quarters of decent football. Hoyer threw three interceptions, including one in the end zone which he should have just thrown away. Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan marched the team down the field but the offense stalled at the Cleveland 35-yard line. Instead of running the clock down as much as they could, Atlanta inexplicably called a timeout with 55 seconds left and then came out of the break throwing the ball. An incomplete pass stopped the clock again and while Atlanta took the lead on a 53-yard field goal, there was too much time on the clock.

Many thought last season’s terrible record was a fluke, but you have to think at this point that the Falcons are just a bad team.
