San Jose Sharks Officially Unveil Stadium Series Jerseys
The San Jose Sharks have officially revealed the jerseys they will wear in the Stadium Series.
It appears that the designs of the jerseys that were leaked last week were correct.
The San Jose Sharks officially revealed their Stadium Series jerseys on Friday, and it is exactly the same as the jersey that was leaked last week.
Sharks’ defenseman Marc Eduard-Vlasic models the jersey for the unveiling. Give us a little ‘blue steel’ there Marc.
The Sharks usually have had three different jerseys that they wear throughout the season. They have their normal home and away jerseys, which are teal and white respectively. Then, they have their all black alternate jersey, which I think is just awesome looking. The jersey for this years Stadium Series against the Los Angeles Kings are sort of a mix between all three jerseys. The top half of the jersey is their normal teal, with the bottom half being their alternate black, then the teal and black are separated by a white stripe.

On one of the shoulders is a patch paying tribute to Northern California, where the San Jose Sharks reside and represent. It incorporates the state of California with a star in the location of San Jose and, of course, a shark fin.
The jersey also features larger numbers, most likely due to the face they will be playing at Levi’s Stadium, which is a football stadium. The numbers on the back are 13 inches instead of 11.5, and the numbers on the sleeves are now 7 inches instead of 4.
The Sharks say they will start using these jerseys as their third jerseys after the Stadium Series, such like the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers did with their Winter Classic jerseys and the New York Islanders did with their Stadium Series jerseys from last year.
The Kings will supposedly release their jerseys next week.
While it has been pointed out that these jerseys look kind of like they are out of a ‘Star Trek’ episode, I like the design overall. It’s a different, yet, clean look. It seems like the jerseys for the Stadium Series games are being made to look a bit new-age, like the chrome style jerseys the New York Rangers and New York Islanders used last year. While the Winter Classic is staying with the tradition of paying tribute to the roots of the team in having throwback style jerseys.
The game will be played on February 21st at Levi’s Stadium.
