The Atlanta Falcons are scheduled to play the ‘North Carolina Panthers‘ according to the Georgia Dome.

More from Atlanta Falcons

On Sunday afternoon, the Atlanta Falcons will host the Carolina Panthers with the winner being awarded the NFC South crown.

Or at least, that’s what the NFL schedule says though if you were at the Georgia Dome you might see things differently.

That’s because somebody in charge of the stadium marquee believes the Falcons are playing the ‘North Carolina Panthers’.

Now technically, they’re not wrong as the Carolina Panthers are based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Still, that’s not exactly the way the franchise has deemed its brand/name to be used as they seemingly prefer being linked to both North and South Carolina.

It’s not as if they’re playing the ‘Georgia Falcons’.

Of course, it’s nothing more than a simple mistake, likely one crafted by an intern but it’s still rather amusing, especially considering the importance of the game.

In all seriousness though, you’d think that most working at the Georgia Dome would be mildly interested in the game and know enough they’re playing the Carolina Panthers, not the North Carolina Panthers.

Or maybe the Atlanta Falcons know something we don’t.

The winner of the Panthers/Falcons game will not only take the NFC South title but will also stake claim to a playoff birth with the winner going home for the season.
