ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith made an extremely sexist comment about the Women’s World Cup on SportsCenter.

For those unaware, the 2015 Women’s World Cup is underway in Canada and there has been more than a few spectacular goals in the first week of play. Arguably the best of which was a free kick from Norway’s Maren Mjelde that went over the wall and into the top corner of the goal.

It was so good it made SportsCenter’s Top 10 plays after the NBA Finals on Thursday night, and the duo of Stephen A. Smith and basketball analyst Tim Legler were tasked with providing humorous commentary to accompany the clips.

When they got to this goal, that’s when things got offensive and sexist real fast.

“Those young ladies didn’t want to catch one in the grill,” Legler said.

A fair assessment, who wants to catch one in the grill ever, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been seen lining up with a hand over his face to protect his nose.

It was Smith who went too far.

“They might not have wanted to mess their hair up,” Smith added.

In case anyone missed his comment, he then repeated himself again: “They might not have wanted to mess their hair up.”

This shouldn’t be so shocking given Smith’s history of making inappropriate comments about women, like when he made victim-blaming domestic violence comments while discussing Ray Rice in July of 2014.

Those comments resulted in a one-week suspension, we’ll see if ESPN lets him get away with these comments.
