Evening Lineup

Players from the seven games starting at 7:15 PM ET or later

SP-A.J. Burnett-Pittsburgh Pirates: Burnett has been outstanding this season coming into tonight’s start with a 7-3 record and a 1.99 ERA.  He has been even better at home with a 1.28 ERA and 42 strikeouts in comparison with just 13 walks.  St. Louis has a potent lineup with some players that have good histories against him, but Burnett managed to shut them out for six innings in his start against them earlier this year while allowing just two hits and striking out seven.

SP-Eduardo Rodriguez-Boston Red Sox: Rodriguez gets his first taste of the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry tonight at  Fenway.  He has been excellent in all but two of his MLB starts when he reportedly was tipping his pitches. Since then, he has bounced back nicely with two solid outings.  He has 44 K’s in his 46.1 innings, so his strikeout rate makes him have some very nice upside at an affordable 6,500 price.

C-Buster Posey-San Francisco Giants: Posey returned to the lineup last night after missing time this week with a hamstring injury and went 2-4 with a run scored. He has started the month 7-23 (.304) with a pair of homers.

1B-Mark Trumbo-Seattle Mariners: Trumbo has picked things up lately going 10-24 (.417) in the last week including a homer and a pair of doubles.  He’ll face his former team again tonight, and the Mariners are hopeful he can get his bat back in gear for the second half.

2B-Rougned Odor-Texas Rangers: Odor is 7-18 (.389) over the past week and has raised his average to .245 for the season. He’s been much better at home than on the road this season and has hit safely in nine of his last ten games.

3B-Brock Holt-Boston Red Sox

SS-Jung Ho Kang-Pittsburgh Pirates: Kang is 7-23 in the past week after going 2-4 last night in the Pirates win over St. Louis. He has settled into the cleanup spot in the Pirates lineup and should produce as long as he holds that spot.

OF-Hunter Pence-San Francisco Giants

OF-Bryce Harper-Washington Nationals: Harper is 7-17 (.412) over the last week including his 25th home run of the season.  Harper is hitting .342 on the season and will be facing Miguel Gonzalez for the first time in his career.

OF-Mike Trout-Los Angeles Angels: Trout connected on a pair of homers last night and now has five long balls in his last four games. He is 11-30 (.367) so far this month with six homers, 10 runs scores, and 11 RBI.  Trout is pricey, but he’s been producing.
