Andrew McCutchen

As one of the biggest stars in the game today, former MVP, five-time All-Star and three-time Silver Slugger Andrew McCutchen is ready to take his team to the next level.

The seventh-year player is second on the team in batting average, just behind catcher Francisco Cervelli, but he’s easily the most productive and most important member of this team. McCutchen means, without a doubt, more to this offense than any player in baseball.

On the year, McCutchen has a .293 batting average with 18 homers and 78 RBI still with about two months left. He has a shot to beat his career high in RBI (96), but if he wants to break his mark for home runs, he will need to have the best end to the season of any player in the league — he’s 13 away.

However, this guy can change the outlook of a game with one swing of the bat. He’s been the leader of the Pirates for a few years now, and this is the time he finally puts Pittsburgh on his back and brings it to the World Series.

This city has been aching for a baseball title for over 35 years and McCutchen knows that. He has played all seven seasons of his career with the Pirates and understands all too well what he needs to do to make the home fans happy.

While Cole might be the team’s top pitcher throughout the playoffs, McCutchen will win playoff MVP.
