Ronnie Hillman-Denver Broncos (50.4%)
The Broncos running game has looked weaker than Peyton Manning’s arm so far this season, and C.J. Anderson is losing at least some of his “feature-back” luster. The back starting to each some of Anderson’s time is Ronnie Hillman who unfortunately hasn’t really done that much better.
In week 2, Hillman ran for 34 yards on nine carries and didn’t catch a pass, but Anderson struggled even more managing only 27 yards on 12 carries. While the Denver offensive line may be partially to blame, Anderson is losing some of his workload to Hillman which could be a huge shift if the Broncos can get their offense rolling like Coach Gary Kubiak is hoping.
Hillman, Anderson, and the Broncos are in Detroit this week against the 0-2 Lions. The Detroit run defense has been pretty good making this week’s matchup less than ideal, but Hillman makes a good long-term stash to see if he can become the primary ball carrier in the future.
