Quarterback Sleepers Week 3

Marcus Mariota-Tennessee Titans (FD-7,300, DK-6,100): The Titans’ fans get their first look at Mariota in the Tennessee home opener as they face the 0-2 Colts.  Indianapolis’s secondary has been decimated by injury, so Mariota should be able to find some openings to exploit this week.  He came back to earth after his four-touchdown week 1, but he still threw a pair of scores last week and is adapting very well to the NFL speed and style.  Against a banged up secondary, Mariota has a good chance to throw for multiple scores in his first three NFL games.

Derek Carr-Oakland Raiders (FD-6,600, DK 5,300): Carr was impressive in the Raiders win over the Ravens last week throwing for a score early and a score at the very end of the game to beat a Baltimore defense that stifled Peyton Manning week 1.  He finished the game with 351 yards passing and three touchdowns and added 23 yards on the ground.  He was injured week 1, but week 2 was very promising for Carr who appears primed for a breakout campaign in his second year in the NFL.  He has a solid receiving corps and I expect another good performance from Carr this week in Cleveland.

Nick Foles-St. Louis Rams (FD-6,500, DK-5,200): Foles fell back to the pack last week struggling to get anything going on the road in Washington after getting a big win in St. Louis to start the season.  He returns to the dome this week as the Rams host the Steelers.  No team in the NFL has allowed more fantasy points to opposing QB’s than the Steelers, so expect Foles to put up a solid line especially if he’s forced to air it out playing from behind like Collin Kaepernick had to do last week.

Week 2 Picks: Carson Palmer, Teddy Bridgewater, Nick Foles
