If the Baltimore Ravens had any chance at salvaging their season, the football gods basically dumped cold water on it in Week 11. In one fell swoop the Ravens lost Joe Flacco for the season to a knee injury and Justin Forsett to a gruesome broken arm.

It’s basically been one snake-bitten season for the Ravens. Everything started with Terrell Suggs tearing an ACL, and culminated with the Flacco and Forsett injuries. Just a roundabout switchback of pain.

With the Ravens playing at the Cleveland Browns, we’re pretty much in for a pain train of viewing. It’s sad that both teams’ fan bases will be forced to sit through such a cataclysmic late-season viewing, but they knew what they signed up for. Browns of new and Browns of old can sift through all the levels of pain that comes with being a fan of the Rust Belt squads.

And how does Jon Gruden sell this game on Monday Night Football? Smart money says he gives an oral history of football. He then switches into gear and describes how the Ravens were once the Browns and how the Browns are a new old team. From there he shotguns four beers and claims that he can out-party Johnny Manziel, and out-push-up John Harbaugh. It’s gonna be ugly all the way around.

Circling back to the Ravens, the losses of Flacco and Forsett might be blessings in disguise. Baltimore will get a high draft pick and could easily position itself for a quick turnaround in the 2016 season.
