St. Louis Rams (+3) over Detroit Lions

I don’t believe in the Rams. I don’t believe in Nick Foles. I don’t believe in Jeff Fisher.

Take the Rams regardless.

This is as plain of a “fade the public” pick as you will ever see, as 85% (!) of the action via Sports Insights is coming in on Detroit on the road. St. Louis has lost five in a row, and there is not much to like with this team, but they have a very talented defense and the Lions are good for a stinker on a regular basis.

I realize that it makes very little sense to take the Rams without the benefit of a bigger cushion, but I’m in on St. Louis.

Cleveland Browns (-1.5) over San Francisco 49ers

Johnny is back!

We took the Browns last week as they were led by Austin Davis and, well, that did not go according to plan. However, Manziel is, quite clearly, the best option at quarterback for Cleveland. Even when laying a small number, the Browns are the play at home.

Blaine Gabbert is playing much better than anyone could have predicted, but it is still too much of a leap for me to assume that will continue on the road in December. Furthermore, more than 70% of the action is on the road team right now, and I simply can’t justify taking San Francisco in this spot as long as Manziel is the quarterback. The Browns are a horrid organization in just about every way, but I’m taking them.
