San Diego Chargers (+10.5) over Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs have won six straight games, and the Chargers are a disaster at 3-9. Take San Diego!

Double-digit underdogs are almost always the right side in the NFL, and the Chargers also have a unique factor in their favor here. San Diego’s home-field advantage is absolutely non-existent right now, making them a pure “pass” when playing in their home building. However, Philip Rivers and company don’t have that detraction away from Southern California, and even with a “hot” team on the other side, the Chiefs aren’t a squad that should be laying double figures against anyone.

You have to hold your nose to take San Diego right now, and I get that, but it’s the right choice.

Miami Dolphins (+1.5) over New York Giants

Everybody likes the Giants on Monday night, and this line might move even more before kickoff. More than 75% of the action is coming in on New York as a road favorite, and that is quite odd in my view after the Giants lost three straight games.

The Dolphins have bitten me on a number of occasions this season, including a 2-point win when laying 3.5 points last week. However, Miami should be getting more respect than this against a run-of-the-mill Giants team, and if there is any value whatsoever, it comes on the side of the home underdog.

The public has been cooking in recent weeks, and I get that, but the casual handicappers can’t win forever. It’s time for a change.
