High Salary PG

Russell Westbrook-Oklahoma City Thunder (10,700): Westbrook has posted back-to-back triple-doubles after being thrown out of last Wednesday’s game against the Mavericks.  He had 12 points, 11 rebounds, and ten assists for 48.25 fantasy points on Friday against Minnesota and chased that with 13 points, ten rebounds, and 15 helpers against Miami for 55.5 fantasy points. He has at least 48 fantasy points in seven of his last ten games (one game he didn’t reach that level was his early ejection), and he can go off for over 60 fantasy points when he’s at his best like he has been three times in his last ten games.  Tonight, he’s in a tasty matchup against the Nuggets who have allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing PG so far this season.  Westbrook has averaged 22.5 points, ten assists, two steals, and nine rebounds against them in his two games against them this season.  He should be primed for a better scoring game than his last two so even if he doesn’t post a third straight triple-double I like him to produce a big number tonight especially if the scrappy Nuggets can keep this one close. ∗∗∗∗

Michael Carter-Williams-Milwaukee Bucks (6,900): Carter-Williams leads the Bucks to Miami as they look for their fourth win in their last five games. MCS has been up and down lately with over 30 fantasy points in seven of his last ten games but a few head-scratching lines as well.  He ended up only playing 26 minutes on Saturday in Milwaukee’s last game totaling 26.5 fantasy points on nine points, six rebounds, four assists, and two blocks.  Jerryd Bayless returned in that game which could take a chunk out of Carter-Williams playing time.  MCW isn’t an elite-level scoring guard and his solid all-around countable usually require him to play big minutes.  If he gets those minutes tonight against the Miami backcourt without the injured Goran Dragic, he’ll be a good play, but there is definitely the risk that his playing time is again cut short which could cap his fantasy output. If Bayless is active as expected-∗∗

Brandon Knight-Phoenix Suns (6,500): The Suns are a total mess right now after getting blown out by Minnesota (yes, really), but hopefully coming home for the first time in four games can help them turn things around.  They’ll face the Pacers tonight who were without starting PG George Hill in their last game as he stayed behind in Indiana to deal with a personal matter.  It’s unknown if Hill will rejoin the team in time for today’s game, but either way Knight is an option to consider because he is by far the Suns best offensive option and the best hope they have of putting up points.  He should get a ton of shots and usually logs pretty heavy minutes making him worth a look at a relatively inexpensive price. ∗∗∗

Jrue Holiday-New Orleans Pelicans (6,000): Tyreke Evans wasn’t able to play in the Pelicans’ day-game yesterday after too much knee soreness in warmups.  As a result, Holiday ran the show and finished with 21 points and nine assists for 38 fantasy points. Holiday has at least nine assists in three straight games now and has at least 25 fantasy points in eight straight games including five games with over 30 fantasy points. If Evans is sidelined again tonight, Holiday is a great play against the Timberwolves who have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing PG this season.  Even if Evans returns, Holiday is an option worth looking at, although he definitely gets more usage when Tyreke is on the sidelines.
