DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-February 5
High Salary PG
John Wall-Washington Wizards (9,700): It was hard to notice due to the human eclipse that is Stephen Curry, but John Wall had a monster game on Wednesday night against the Warriors dropping 41 points to go with ten assists and get him 65.25 fantasy points in just 35 minutes. He has at least 50 fantasy points in three of his last four games, and he’s in a good matchup tonight against the 76ers who have allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing PG over their last five games. Look for Wall to find plenty of room to operate against Phily tonight, and he should have a huge game as long as it doesn’t turn into a runaway early. ∗∗∗∗
Isaiah Thomas-Boston Celtics (7,500): The Celtics head to Cleveland to face LeBron and the Cavs tonight, so they’ll need their offense at its best. That usually means plenty of IT4 with the ball creating for himself and others. Thomas has at least 35 fantasy points in each of his last three games, and even though Marcus Smart has returned Thomas continues to run the offense and get plenty of usage. It’s not a great matchup for him against Kyrie, but he has been productive lately regardless of matchup only being time-limited when games turned non-competitive early.∗∗
Ish Smith-Philadelphia 76ers (7,100): No team has given up more fantasy points to opposing PG in their last five games than the Washington Wizards. Although those stats are skewed by facing Steph Curry and Russell Westbrook, they have also given up some big games to lesser PG. Smith will be at the helm of the Sixers attack against a Wizards team that has been giving up a ton of points. Ish is very volatile lately with five games in his last ten over 39 fantasy points and three games in his last five with under 26 fantasy points. He should be able to have one of his better stat lines tonight, so look for Smith to be a good play although there is little “safe” about the pick. ∗∗∗
Kyrie Irving-Cleveland Cavaliers (6,800): Ivring is starting to look more and more like his All-Star self as he continues to get back to full speed after a long layoff. Kyrie has at least 20 points in four straight games and has produced over 34 fantasy points in each of those contests. His assist numbers have been trending up, so he’s an option ton consider tonight even though he’ll probably have to deal with Avery Bradley on defense who has helped the Celtics be the best team in the NBA at limiting opposing PG fantasy points. I still like Irving tonight despite the matchup, but it does keep him from being a five-star play. ∗∗∗∗
Derrick Rose-Chicago Bulls (6,200): Rose has been shooting fewer three’s and taking it to the rim more, and its resulted in a successful road trip for the former #1 overall pick. Rose has at least 26 fantasy points in each of his four games on the Bulls’ current trip and had a very nice line of 21 points, nine assists, and six boards for 42.5 fantasy points against the Kings on Wednesday. He had to step up his game a bit with Jimmy Butler out, and he could have to do that again tonight. At this point, it’s looking likely that the Bulls will rest Butler tonight which sets Rose up for a big game against the Nuggets who allow the fifth-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing PG. No Butler-∗∗∗∗∗ With Butler-∗∗∗∗
