DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy hockey lineup- February 7
High Salary C
John Tavares-New York Islanders ($7,700): Tavares picked up his 18th goal of the season on Saturday and now has eight points in his last eight games. On a day with a light slate of games, Tavares is one of the best options available at center. He gets a decent matchup with Edmonton tonight and is worth paying for to use in your lineup.
Connor McDavid-Edmonton Oilers ($6,300): McDavid didn’t show up on the scoresheet Saturday, but he’s still needs to be started each time he’s on the ice. He missed a significant amount of time this year with a broken clavicle, but appears to be fully healthy. He’s played three games since his return and has racked up a goal and four assists. Continue to roll McDavid while his salary remains on the low side.
Evgeny Kuznetsov-Washington Capitals ($6,500): Kuznetsov has been fantasy gold lately and is no longer a surprise pick. He usually has a high ownership number, but still makes a great start for your fantasy lineup. He picked up an assist on Saturday and has 53 points through 51 games. He’s got 11 points in the last six games and gets a very favorable matchup with Philadelphia today. Kuznetsov and his teammates will likely be charged up to play in front of the loud Verizon Center crowd. Expect a big day from the young Russian.
High Value C
Tomas Plekanec-Montreal Canadiens ($5,000): After struggling through six games recently without picking up any points, Plekanec dished out an assist on February 3. He followed that up with a monster game Saturday, scoring a goal and adding three assists. The veteran center could be starting to heat up and if that’s the case, he’ll be a good option for your lineup at center today. He’s really had a disappointing year but will look to finish with a strong second half.
Elias Lindholm-Carolina Hurricanes ($4,000): Lindholm is a good sleeper pick today on a day where you will have to go a bit under the radar for some of your picks. He was held pointless in his last game but had a three-game point streak prior to that. While not consistent, he’s had moments of fantasy relevance this season. Today he gets to go up against Montreal, a team ranked 20th in points allowed to fantasy centers. Take Lindholm and save cap space to use at another position.
Alex Galchenyuk-Montreal Canadiens ($4,300): Galchenyuk picked up his 19th assist on Saturday and extended his point streak to four games. Prior to the current hot streak, he had put up just two points in the previous 11 games. Galchenyuk is on fire right now and needs to be taken advantage of. Plug him into your lineup today, as he represents solid production for a value price.
