Dallas Cowboys: B+

Some love this draft, but I merely like it. The thought of drafting any running back with the No. 4 overall pick seems like a mistake, especially when your offensive line can make Darren McFadden look like a star. That said, Ezekiel Elliott is a great talent. It’s also hard not to love the selection of Jaylon Smith, who might be the best player in the draft when we look back on it.

New York Giants: A

New York only had six picks but made the most of them. The Giants signed corner Janoris Jenkins this offseason and now have a counterpart for him in Eli Apple. The move to acquire Sterling Shepard out of Oklahoma will also pay off handsomely. Shepard might be the best receiver in this class. Finally, Darian Thompson will likely be a starter at safety next to Landon Collins.

Philadelphia Eagles: D

Other than Carson Wentz’s long-term potential, what is there to celebrate here? Philadelphia desperately needed to add some players in the secondary and yet that was only addressed in the sixth and seventh rounds. Why? Because the Eagles traded away half of their picks to take Wentz, who is currently the third-stringer. It’s a puzzling draft.

Washington Redskins: C+

It’s hard to love this draft. Washington took a wide receiver in the first round despite badly needing an upgrade in its front seven. The Redskins then took Su’a Cravens, a linebacker who is now being moved to safety. There just isn’t a ton to love about these picks, but the Redskins earn a C+ because Josh Doctson could become special down the line.
