player. 29.
The San Antonio Spurs are known for the high basketball IQ of many of the players on their roster, and Virginia’s Malcolm Brogdon would be another intelligent, high character Spur. Brogdon played four seasons under head coach Tony Bennett with the Cavaliers, where he became one of the best players in college basketball.

While he’s not an explosive athlete, Brogdon is a solid ball-handler who can operate an offense if necessary without turning the ball over frequently. He was a 36.5 percent three-pointer shooter during college, but peaked during his senior campaign by knocking down 39.1 percent of his career-high 192 attempts. He has experience running off of screens and can also pull up off the dribble when needed.

At 6-6, 223 pounds, Brogdon is a physically mature prospect who will be able to compete against the bigger players he’ll face in the NBA. He also has a nearly 6-11 wingspan, which certainly helped contribute to him winning two ACC Defensive Player of the Year awards. He’ll play with great effort and toughness on the defensive end where energy can go a long ways towards being a productive defender. Brogdon may turn out to be little more than a role-playing 3-and-D wing at the next level, but that’s good value late in the first round.
