Could a reunion with former Broncos head coach John Fox be in order for the frustrated Miller? While Chicago has struggled in the midst of a rebuilding effort the last few years, the Bears have a familiar face and great linebacker history on their side to court Miller. Having an absurd amount of future salary cap space doesn’t hurt either.

Miller could get paid with the Bears and star on the same Soldier Field gridiron that was once home to players like Dick Butkus, Mike Singletary, and Brian Urlacher. Miller’s 2015 teammate with the Broncos in inside linebacker Danny Trevathan already spurned the Broncos in 2016 NFL free agency to rejoin Fox in the Windy City. Could Miller potentially do the same thing?

It wouldn’t be all that shocking, as the continuity that is usually in place with a Fox staff brought out the best in Miller early in his NFL career. When the Bears are at their best as a football team, Chicago has outstanding play from its linebacker corps, wreaking havoc on all opposing quarterbacks in their way.

It’s been over 30 years since Buddy Ryan’s 46 Defense changed the game of football in the mid-1980s and gave the Bears their only Super Bowl Championship in 1985. Fox has already led two NFL franchises to Super Bowls in the Panthers and the Broncos. Would being able to sign Miller away from Denver be the key to Fox getting that elusive Lombardi Trophy?

Chicago has a long way to go before being a serious Super Bowl contender with their roster. However, do expect a defensive overhaul to be the necessary inertia to bring the Bears back to relevancy in the next few years. Miller could play the last few years of his prime with the Monsters of the Midway.
