Dallas Cowboys. 2. player. 123. . NFC. East

Would the vaunted Broncos pass rusher consider playing for his hometown team in the Dallas Cowboys? If he doesn’t feel welcomed in Denver, Miller should absolutely put the hometown Cowboys on his short list of teams in 2017 NFL free agency.

Dallas is one of the NFL’s most identifiable franchises and play in the NFL’s newest and most exciting cathedral in AT&T Stadium better known as JerryWorld. The Cowboys still have maybe a few more peak years with Tony Romo as their quarterback to contend for a Super Bowl, but time is running out for the Cowboys’ best signal caller since Troy Aikman.

Though Romo is rapidly exciting his prime, the Cowboys do boast arguably the best offensive line in football and have an exciting young tailback in No. 4 overall pick Ezekiel Elliott out of Ohio State. Head coach Jason Garrett seems to have settled in nicely as the Cowboys head coach these last few years, but the biggest problem that remains for the Cowboys is that Dallas lacks big-time playmakers defensively.

Outside of always-hurt outside linebacker Sean Lee, Dallas doesn’t have the championship-caliber defense necessary to honestly make a deep NFC Playoff run. By signing with his hometown team in the Cowboys, Miller would be the new face of the franchise once Romo calls it a career.

With the offensive line and Elliott still in their prime, Dallas can contend in the NFC for a trip to the Super Bowl with Miller anchoring the defense. Owner Jerry Jones loves to overpay for something he knows he wants. With the news of the Broncos and Miller being at a stalemate at the negotiating table, Jones cannot possibly covet a player more than he would for the homegrown outside linebacker.
