2. Kris Dunn – Providence

Let me first say that the Timberwolves targeting Kris Dunn is a bit of a tricky thing for some people. Rubio as the current starting point guard in Minnesota is a pretty divisive figure as there are those that believe that he can successfully lead an NBA team at the point guard position despite his offensive inefficiencies while there are also plenty of people that believe that he’s no longer going to work with the Wolves. As such, they might be in the business of drafting a point guard and Kris Dunn is the best of the bunch.

Outside of Ben Simmons and Brandon Ingram, there is a pretty popular opinion that has risen up that Kris Dunn is the second-best player in this draft class. His greatest strength is his length and ability to defend on the perimeter without question. However, he also is a fantastic floor general and, though it’s a bit of a divisive issue, he has solid shooting mechanics and a great feel around the rim.

Dunn is truly the type of player that we could wind up looking back on this draft class and see him being the best player from it. He’s that talented and has that much potential as he comes to the next level. If the Timberwolves indeed want to move on from Rubio, Dunn would be the way to go.
