5. Kevin Durant

Before we go any further with this, yes this is an absolute pipe dream that isn’t going to happen considering that the Timberwolves aren’t one of the teams that were able to secure a meeting with Durant. However, that doesn’t make it any less intriguing of a prospect when it comes to adding Durant to this young core.

When you look at the Timberwolves, their biggest hole is at the small forward position and to have a guy with essentially limited versatility at that position. That’s obviously a niche that Durant would effortless fill. Moreover, Durant would also be a player that would address the Wolves biggest issues offensively in the ability to score from the perimeter. His ability to score from everywhere else on the floor, facilitate, and slot into an already seemingly dangerous defense wouldn’t hurt either.

Even if this isn’t going to happen, it’s a move that the Timberwolves should be doing everything in their power to at least attempt to pursue. Moreover, wouldn’t you have to consider playing alongside this talented group of young players and leading them to new heights if you’re Durant? Dare to dream—and if you’re daring, this is definitely the way to go about it in Minnesota.
