4. Minnesota Twins

The Minnesota Twins are in contention for one of the worst records in baseball. While things are bleak in Minnesota right now, they have some youth in the minors that should contribute in the future.

They also will be able to reap the rewards of a bad season by having yet another high pick in next year’s draft that they can add to their prospect pool.

However, with the Twins having barely 40 wins and looking to see what they can get out of their youth in the last two months, they should explore waiver trades to see what other teams might offer for some of their players.

One player that seems like a logical choice for a waiver trade is Ervin Santana.

Despite his win-loss record being a product of being on a bad baseball team, Santana is having a good year for the Twins with a 3.66 ERA, and that is going to be very appealing to a team looking to add another rotational guy before the playoffs.

While the top pitchers are going to be hard to trade through waivers, Santana is a pitcher who should find his way to a contender, bringing the Twins some decent prospects in return.

This is the ideal move for the Twins to make, and it would further add to the young talent they’re trying to put in place.
