4. USC is the new Miami

The USC Trojans got hit hard with sanctions, but they’ve always been able to get talent on the roster. This past year, they finally had a full recruiting class and were able to land a very strong group of players. However, this team is struggling.

It’s become quite clear that Clay Helton was the wrong choice for head coach and Lynn Swann is going to have a mess to clean up. Max Browne was hyped up to be the next great USC quarterback and was an absolute dud. Sam Darnold is giving it his best and gave the Trojans a great chance to win at Utah.

Instead, they lost in disappointing fashion and their chances of winning the Pac-12 South are in serious jeopardy. It’s a long season and they can get back in the thick of things, but any more losses and it’s all but over for the program.

It’s quite reminiscent of the Miami Hurricanes after their sanctions. They could pull in the talent, but they could just never put it completely together and have that one great season. It’s sad to see the state of the Trojans program right now.
