High Salary PF

Kristaps Porzingis-New York Knicks (7,700): Porzingis is my favorite option of the top-flite power forwards tonight as he looks to continue his impressively consistent production for the Knicks. Porzinigis has at least 34 fantasy points in eight straight games with at least 42 in four of those contests. He had 44.75 fantasy points on Monday against the Thunder finishing with 21-5-2 and a season-high five blocks. He’ll have a tough matchup up front with Gorgui Dieng, but over their last five games, Minnesota has allowed the fifth-most fantasy points per game to opposing PF setting Porzingis up for continued success tonight.

Gorgui Dieng-Minnesota Timberwolves (6,100):  Speaking of Dieng, he has been consistent as well over the last couple of weeks, albeit at a lower level than Porzingis. Dieng has at least 28 fantasy points in five straight and has a pair of games over 35 fantasy points during that stretch. After losing some time earlier this moth, though, he looks like he’s back to playing over 30 minutes a night on a regular basis which allows him to pile up his usually-solid non-scoring stats.

Thaddeus Young-Indiana Pacers (5,700): Because of his matchup and the lack of other options on the Pacers with Paul George out, I think Thaddeus Young will be the best mid-range play of the night at PF. Young has scored in double digits in nine of his last ten games and went for 24-7-0 against the Hawks last Wednesday night. In that contest he had 36.25 fantasy points, but I think he can do even better than that since he’s facing the Blazers who are allowing the most fantasy points per game in the NBA to opposing PF.  So far this year, Portland has given up 55.8 fantasy points per game to opposing PF while no other team has allowed more than 52.8 fantasy points per game (the Nets). Young isn’t a lock-in at five stars due to just 19 and 21 fantasy points in his last two games, but he’s a play I really like tonight from under 6K.

Tobias Harris-Detroit Pistons (5,700): Another mid-range play to take a look at is Tobias Harris who played 42 minutes against the Celtics 11 days ago and will face Boston again tonight. He had 19 points and 25.5 fantasy points in that previous meeting and has posted over 20 points and over 33 fantasy points in each of his last two contest. He has more momentum than Young, but he doesn’t have quite as good a matchup.

Kenneth Faried-Denver Nuggets (5,600): The Nuggets PF spot has been a tough one to figure out all year, and Faried has been starting for Denver for the past couple of weeks with mixed results. He starting out on fire before some games where he had limited minutes and production. He has bounced back a little bit recently with back-to-back games over 28 fantasy points. Miami’s tendency to go small would seem to play into his hands for a big game tonight, but he’s always high risk since his role is undefined.∗∗
