Junior laughed about getting spun out during the STP 500 at the time, but perhaps he felt differently about it after another rough day.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is not having the best Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season, to say the least. He was running better in the STP 500 at Martinsville, even recovering from being spun out by Ryan Blaney.

Yes, the same Blaney who called him a bad word after the race at Phoenix a few weeks ago.

While Earnhardt laughed about getting tapped and spun by Blaney when it happened, according to the audio played by the Fox Sports crew, it’s possible he felt differently about the incident after some time to reflect. NASCAR.com was on top of Junior’s Twitter feed, where it appears he refused a call from Blaney after Sunday’s race:

The #BYOB hashtag is a reference to Earnhardt saying that he wasn’t going to hook up his friend and neighbor Blaney with free beer anymore. Looks like he’s sticking to that story for now.

Blaney also had a literal run-in with Jimmie Johnson at Martinsville, who expressed his own anger (though politely worded) with the No. 21 Ford driver to his crew. There’s no question that Blaney’s talent has been on full display early in the 2017 NASCAR Cup Series season, but he’s also shown some impatience and a tendency to make some errors on and off pit road and in other aspects of his racing.

As has been widely reported, Earnhardt is actually Blaney’s landlord, renting a house to him on property he owns. It’s usually not a good idea to make your landlord’s life more difficult, and while the two seem like they will be able to get past this most recent incident, someone might want to tell the 21 to give the 88 a break for at least a couple weeks, just in case.
