First basemen

High Salary Option

Anthony Rizzo ($4,800): Rizzo is the first of many Cubs that will make an appearance in the recommendations today, as they will get to set their sights on the struggling Pirates youngster Tyler Glasnow. Although Rizzo is yet to get his first hit of the series between the two, he should have plenty of options to drive in runs tonight.

High Value Option

Albert Pujols ($3,900): In a high priced day for first basemen, Pujols represents a very nice value buy, especially in a matchup against southpaw Sean Manaea. Albert has not hit lefties well yet this year, but has hit very well at home, posting a .348 mark in Anaheim.

Rank Em:

  1. Rizzo
  2. Freddie Freeman ($4,300)
  3. Eric Thames ($5,000)
  4. Joey Votto ($5,100)
  5. Pujols

Third basemen

High Salary Option

Kris Bryant ($4,700): Just as is the case with Rizzo, Bryant is a guy to pay the price for tonight, especially when it is lower than what he usually garners. Glasnow struggles with his control and falls into positions that hitters like Bryant feast on. Bryant should be an on-base (or rounding the bases) monster tonight. He’s a must have.

High Value Option

Chase Headley  ($3,300): This is a chance to land a huge coup on the day, as Headley as been one of the hottest hitters in AL so far, and has a great personal pairing on the day against Rick Porcello. For his career, Headley has stroked to the tone of a .368 average (7-for-19), with three doubles and a home run. Looks like a nice play, especially with Porcello still trying gather himself this year.

Rank Em:

  1. Bryant
  2. Nolan Arenado ($5,600)
  3. Anthony Rendon ($4,800)
  4. Manny Machado ($4,700)
  5. Gyorko
