Second Basemen

High Salary Option

Daniel Murphy ($5,300): Tyler Chatwood has not been all that bad for the Rockies overall this year, but has struggled against lefties. That is a mixture for success for Murphy, who will be surrounded by a team that should be considered as widely on the day as the Cubs bats are.

High Value Option

Jedd Gyorko ($3,400): He has been the best hitter in the Cardinals lineup this year, and will face a former teammate in Latos tonight whom he has landed a few hits against already in his career. Gyorko has multi-hit performances in three of his last four games, and is a value play at both third and second base on the day.

Rank Em:

  1. Dozier
  2. Daniel Murphy ($5,300)
  3. Jose Ramirez ($4,400)
  4. Gyorko
  5. Ben Zobrist ($3,600)

Shortstop

High Salary Option

Corey Seager ($4,200): I completely understand if everyone wants to jump in on Trea Turner in Coors today, fresh off a night where he hit for the cycle, while driving in seven. But I really, really like Seager’s odds on Wednesday, as he’ll pair off against a struggling Johnny Cueto. Seager smacked around Cueto a year ago when he was pitching much better, hitting .353 over 17 at-bats. Seager carries one of the elite bats in the game, and can be set to put it on display.

High Value Option

Addison Russell ($3,300): Russell continues to be a must play throughout his series in Pittsburgh, as he has been at the core of all the Cubs’ run production. With what could be another massive offensive outbreak tonight. While he continues to be underpriced, keep him on your daily shortlist.

Rank Em:

  1. Seager
  2. Trea Turner ($5,400)
  3. Francisco Lindor ($4,900)
  4. Russell
  5. Aledmys Diaz ($3,900)
