Julio Jones hires dive team to find expensive jewelry

Julio Jones of the Atlanta Falcons found himself in quite a spot after losing a pricey item while visiting a popular lake north of the city.

Everything was going just fine for Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones when he spent the day having fun at the popular Lake Lanier outside of the city. Well, everything was going fine until Jones realized that he had lost a pricey piece of jewelry that flew off while he was getting knocked around on jet ski.

NBC affillete WXIA-TV has more on the story and why Jones was so worried about a piece of jewelry that fell off:

"Jones, the superstar of the Atlanta Falcons lost his diamond earring while jet skiing. That was when he apparently hit a boat wake and was tossed into the water.  He came back up, but his earring, worth more than $100,000 didn’t. He suspects that it’s now somewhere at the bottom of the lake – some 65 feet below."

Well, that’s not good.

Julio Jones took his search for the elusive earring, which some reports say was worth closer to $150,000, to the next level by hiring a dive team to go to the lake – which his almost pitch black at the bottom and almost impossible for anything to be found – and try to find the earring among everything else that was at the bottom.

Needless to say, Jones and the divers came up empty handed like the Falcons at the end of Super Bowl LI (too soon, Atlanta) and the star receiver is having to go back to the jewelry store and replace the item with something else.

So, as a tip to all the FanSided readers, make sure you are not wearing jewelry when you go out to the waters and have some fun under the sun. If not, you may have to hire a dive team – and we all know how pricey that could get.
