Winner – Tony Sanchez

There is a winner on this week’s list and surprisingly, it’s Tony Sanchez. After UNLV lost to Howard last week, it was one of the more embarrassing moments for the program. To lose to a team that they paid to play ended up coming back to bite them.

It absolutely did not matter who the Rebels were playing this week, they just needed a win of any type to show they could beat someone. Not only did they beat Idaho, they went up and put them away with rather ease.

While Sanchez isn’t much better off in the long run, he’s evened up the record now. Furthermore, his team responded to an embarrassing loss that caught national attention with some pride and a nice day.

Beating Idaho isn’t some big monumental achievement by any means, but this one should at least buy Sanchez a little bit of time. It’s all about showing moderate improvement and now his team’s win/loss ratio is evened up.

It’s important to remember that just as quickly as he can buy himself time, it can be lost even faster if they come out with another bad performance. For now, it was exactly what he needed from his team.
