Loser – Chris Ash

The job at Rutgers is never going to be easy so long as they’re in the Big Ten. However, that means they need to scrap together any wins they can with their non-conference schedule to give themselves a shot heading into conference play.

After losing to a great Washington team to start the year, Rutgers lost again in Week 2. They dropped a very winnable game to Eastern Michigan. It was one of those games where they needed to get a win while they could.

Now, they have a game against Morgan State next week that is their best chance the rest of the way to get a win. After a two-win season last year, Ash probably isn’t going to fare much better this year either.

It’s hard to look at their schedule right now and figure out where a win is going to come from besides next week, let alone multiple of them. Even if he is just in his second year, a long year isn’t going to help his cause heading into year three if he gets it.

His seat isn’t as hot as the other guys at the moment, but he has to just take it one week at a time and see where things go. It’s a long road for the program right now.
