10 RB sleepers to target for fantasy football week 3
8. Alex Collins
In the first couple of weeks of the season, we’ve already established Javorius Allen as a waiver wire pick up and someone to watch out for on Sundays as he starts to eat into Terrance West’s carries. But with West hurt and potentially out for the game at Wembley on Sunday, there is another back in Baltimore we should keep our eyes on.
Collins was a fifth round pick in 2016, but simply failed to live up to his potential as he was let go by Seattle just a few weeks ago. It doesn’t say much about his talent that he couldn’t break into a back field where Eddie Lacy was named the starter in Week 1, but there’s a good chance it said more about Chris Carson and his development as a runner (which is proven so far this season).
Just like in the rest of their games, Baltimore will want to run the ball early and often against Jacksonville this weekend. The whole strategy is based around keeping the ball out of Joe Flacco’s hands and instead on the ground. If West isn’t 100 percent or doesn’t suit up at all, look for Collins to be worked into the mix and he could surprise a few with his burst and power.
